MEMORIAL DAY TRIBUTE
On Memorial Day we honor the fallen hero’s
Our country’s most brave, fearless, and courageous too
Our hero’s who died for our country’s freedom
Just people like me and you
A loved one in battle hoping to come home soon
A dad, a mom, someone’s daughter or son
The ones who paid the ultimate price
For they didn’t come home when the battle was done.
So today we place flowers on rows of stone
And give honor to those that are lost
We publicly display our private grief
As we absorb the full measure of freedoms cost.
Lost is the innocence of yesterday
As war penetrates this young generation
Pray that our country remembers our constitution
For that is what founded this great nation.
America the beautiful
My country so many heroes have died for
I am so proud to be called an American
Because of their sacrifice freedom shall ring forevermore!
