He was our shooting star

There are many stars, that dance across the sky
Some last for many years, some are born to quickly die.
A shooting star my friend, is a rare and wonderful sight
If you see one light up the night, you can wish upon its flight!

A shooting star with a comet tail, has a short time to live
But oh what a wonderful gift to the sky, this rare star has to give!
It doesn't look like all the rest, yet its a beauty to behold
A wonderous light and majical heir, has a mystery yet to unfold!

Many stars will stand alone, as they brighten up the night
But a shooting star is moving fast, in its rare and wonderful flight!
His life was like that shooting star, a gift we were not worthy of
A life that brought beauty down to earth, Yet he belonged to the heavens above!

SOMEONE MAY BE WATCHING YOU!

Praise God for all his blessings
be thankful in all that you do
be an example in your life that is lived for Jesus
Someone may be watching you!

Treat each day as a new beginning
Make sure your words are spoken true
be a gift to those that come your way
Someone may be watching you!

The trials that you face
when each day begins anew
Shine in your Christian faith
For someone may be wathcing you!

Angels On loan From God

A child is a gift from God,
no greater a gift could be
A God that sends his angels down
In human form to see.

Little ones that bring us joy,
yes joy beyond compare
We give them all we have to give
Our love we gladly share.

We plan to have our child there
until in our days we grow old
We sometimes take for granted
They will always be ours to hold.

But sometimes God has a greater plan
Our children are Angels on loan
and sometimes God needs his Angels
before the angel is grown.

So remember that hugs do matter,
and memories are made by the day
tender moments can last a lifetime
and never be taken away.

But the little angel you hold so dear
is only entrusted in your care
For she first belonged to heaven
and she could be needed there.

But of God we must trust his plan
and of him we shall not fear
Rejoice in the gift of each day we are given
Every moment of every year!

HIS LIFE WAS A JOURNEY

How could one person
have so much to give,
And teach us the meaning of life,
When he himself had so little time to live?

A steadfast love he possessed for the Lord
he set the bar on serving Jesus name,
He filled the church with the lives he touched
He loved all people the same.

He was always there to help a friend
For a friend truly was he
showing his faithfulness in his works
His life was a gift of love and generosity.

We cannot know why a life so precious
A life lived so well was ended.
But as the darkness of shadows fall
We can rest assured that to heaven he has ascended.

We know that he was yours dear Lord
A gift on loan to us for only a short while
But oh what a glorious gift he was
So precious and true was his smile!

Into thy hands that cradle him now
his journey on earth now is through
A life that was lived to the fullest down here,
Now in heaven and lifted up to you.

His life was a journey on earth
Today we celebrate his heavenly birth
Every journey must begin and end
And every journey's ending is a new beginning.

The meaning of being a Mother

Mother is another name for love
A child is a gift from our Lord up above
Biology in this union plays no part
For a mother is made by the love in her heart!

A bond between mother and child can't be broken
It runs deeper than any words ever spoken
The honor of motherhood is earned every day
With each hug or kiss shared on life's way

Sharing the good days, drying the tears
Yes mother is honor earned through the years
To carry a baby means a child you'll bear
But being a mother means you'll always be there!

PARENTING CHAPTER 5

To be a good parent is where greatness exceeds
It is not always easy to fulfill your childs needs
They are our future, our earth's greatest treasure
Each child in our life, deserves love beyond measure.

The loss of a child, can bring sorrow hard to comprehend
It's like walking in a tunnel that has no end
I have been through the happiness; and the loss too

There is a garden up in heaven where the colors never fade
Its welcome sign is always bright even in the shade


And going down the middle is a trail made out of stone
It’s wide enough for two so no one ever walks alone.


As angels prim the garden unto God they sing their praise
How could so much beauty not bring joy into their days?
A place with only sunshine, absent of life’s sorrow
Where days melt into years and there's no fear about tomorrow.


I walk through my own garden, its flowers smell so sweet
It’s my little piece of heaven, where God and me can meet
Someday in heavens Garden I will walk by Gods welcome sign
For now I am just content to know that God has walked by mine!

DEATH IS A NEW BIRTH, A JOURNEY FROM EARTH

Look not at death for it's just a new birth
It's a pathway to heaven and a journey from earth!

Can I help you in some way today?
Can I brighten your path along lifes way?
Can I tell you of Jesus the one who is true?
For he is ready and waiting for you.

I want to be a soul winner for Jesus,
And send others to that mansion on high
Your soul means so much to my savior
in heaven there is no sad goodbye!

I can only point you to Jesus

When Jesus comes in the clouds of glory
and calls his loved ones home
Oh don't you want to be called in that number

I may never own a mansion
polished with earths silver and gold
Never be rich like so many
who their earthly treasures hold.

But I'm looking unto Jesus
and I know he will carry me through
for in heaven I own a mansion
when I bid this world "a due"..

I love the sweet story of Jesus
the story of his wonderful love
how he suffered and died for me
and now lives in heaven above!

You would love this sweet old story
if your heart to him will give
though your sins are many,
he is waiting to forgive!

He will share with you his glory
when your life on earth is done,

In times of suffering, we just want our pain to go away,

Oh what a happy meeting

Oh how I love Jesus,

Finding Courage out of tragedy

Together in love almost 15 years,
My Love, my life; sharing laughter and tears.
Then out of nowhere, in waters toiling and dim
Tragedy struck; and there I was alone without him!

He dived into the water,
they say he struck his head
I was lost and alone,
the love of my life was dead.
Scared and left alone,
in my time of tremendous sorrow
How could I face the rest of my life,
When I could't even face tomorrow!

I went to my room alone that night,
There I screamed and lay on the floor!
I pleaded with God to help me,
just make everything good like before!
I gazed accross the room,
saw my bible on a table just lying there,
God was reaching out to me, wanting my sorrows to share.

Soon the morning sun streamed in the window,
But my pain was not gone
I realized it was through Gods grace,
I would find strength to carry on!

I prayed,
"God if you are listening, and he is there with you,
let him look upon me, let him see I'll make it through!
God let him see me smile again, let him know I love him so,
Tell him that I'll be okay, as I struggle to let go."

Finally I turn to scripture, and Gods word I implore
He shall comfort me on earth, till in heaven we're together once more.
Turning to Psalms 30, to ease a heart thats torn,
Though sorrow comes by night, joy comes in the morn.

With God's mercy I shall go on, in his light is where I shall see
I can do all things, Through God who strengthens me!

Will you meet me in Heaven?

Will you meet me over yonder in that city of delight?
Where a mansion for me is waiting, with a robe of spotless white!

Once i hoped in Jesus, now I know that he is mine
Once my lamps were dying, in him they brightly shine!

Once for death I waited, now his coming hail,
My hopes securely anchored, safe within his veil!

Someday I'll walk with Jesus' in the land of endless day
when my journey here is ended, I'll go home with him to stay.

No longer feel this earthly pain, or suffer all alone
In Heaven no more tears will flow, our perfect eternal home.

In John 14:2-3 we read, "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."

THE GOLDEN STAIRS OF HEAVEN

On earth I know such sorrow,
I carry a heavy load,
But there is a brighter tomorrow,
Where there is no rocky road.

I know my Lord will guide me,
I have no need to fear,
For he always walks beside me
When I call out he will hear!

Jesus knows when I am lonely,
Knows when I need more,
He prepares for me a mansion
On heavens golden shore.

For you I will be waiting,
Beside the golden stair,
When Jesus bids you welcome
Look for me and I'll be there!

I will wait for you there,
In Gods great unknown,
Till he comes and he gathers
You too for his own!

HEAVENS GATE

God sends us down his promise
It's worth more than wordly gold,
"Fear not for I am with you"
When heavens gates unfold.

SALVATION A GLORIOUS GIFT

Salvation through Jesus what a glorious gift
He gives us a destiny beyond our dreams
He is our past, present and future,
He is as great as the values he redeems!

The gift of Salvation is ours through Jesus
We are justified by his past; he secures us today,
And because he shed his blood for us on the cross
Our future in Heaven is assured in every way!

Those who choose to reject this glorious gift
And the word they choose to not hear,
Will suffer Gods wrath poured out in full measure
Living life and eternity in anger, torment and fear!

The end is now nearing, Jesus shall soon return
Sending his glorious gift that each man has attained,
We shall fear not the day when we see his face
For by his gift our salvation was gained!

Jesus gave up His human life to save ours.
Jesus said that His death was the only acceptable payment for sin. He is our ONLY way to God. He died to give our spirit eternal life. Without Him, we are spiritually dead. Ephesians 2:1-2

We SHALL SEE JESUS

We are on a Journey
To a land of peace and love
At the end we meet our Savior
In that happy home above!

Though our journey may be long
And often times we feel alone
The arms of our dear Savior
Are always open to lean upon.

He will always guide us
If his will we obey
Someday soon we'll be with Jesus
It could happen any day!

So watch the life we are living
And Walk with Jesus each day,
he will guide our lonely footsteps
So we never loose our way.

If to him we will be faithful
Seek his sheep that go astray
Our reward will be in heaven
Where we will see Jesus one sweet day!

for He will make a sudden end of all who live on the earth...Seek the Lord, all you humble of the land, you who do what He commands. Seek righteousness, seek humility; perhaps you will be sheltered on the day of the Lord's anger." Zephaniah 1:14-18

I SHALL BE IN ETERNITY

I want Jesus to have his way in my life,
To guide my day, and guide my night,
With open arms should I fall,
And open ears should I call!

Then when I travel my last mile,
I face that fear with a smile,
For he shall reach his hand for me
And guide me into eternity.

With trials and tragedies I live through,
I shall serve my Lord, and know he is true,
One glimpse of his face will well repay
The price of my suffering and challenges today.

I'm going to heaven where beauty lies,
Up yonder in the golden skies
A place where goodness shall never fail,
Where only kindness and mercy prevail!

Once we are dead, there is no way to "cross sides". In fact, the Bible symbolically speaks of a "great gulf" that separates the two realms of the dead, who are awaiting the final judgment day (Luke 16:19-31). Choose life!

WHY WOULD GOD LISTEN TO MY BROKEN PRAYERS

How can I pray to God?
He is so much greater than me!
Why would he listen to my words
When his powers can part the sea?

Why would God send Angels down
to watch over me each day?
How can I pray to such a mighty king
How can I know what to say?

Why would God whose power reins
over all creation on earth and above
listen to one as underserving as me
then embrace me with all of his love?

Why would God perfect in wisdom
listen to one so broken?
With unmeasured deep awareness
he answers in words now unspoken.

God in his glory loves me and listens
as i come to him with each prayer.
For he not only listens but answers each one
then he lifts up the pain that I bear.

Though I'm not perfect
He forgives me and makes me whole.
He gives me each day anew
To embrace him and bless my soul.

Praise to the one who created heaven and earth
Praise to the one with great power
Praise to the who hears my prayers

Thank-you father for being so patient with me
Even if I make mistakes, as so many times I do

A PRAYER FOR HEALING

To pray for a healing I first close my eyes
Then immersed with great focus I feel energized
I pray for gods healing as I focus my mind
On the things I need most and the energy I find.

I let go of concern that God may not hear
I know he is listening and soothing my fear.
his divine intervention is working within me
He shall open my heart and my eyes that I see

God is already in charge of my endless care
In sorrow and pain every moment he's there.
he has truly immersed me in his healing light
Never leaving me far from his attentive sight.

As i feel the warmth on my face from Gods healing sun
I know through my prayers his will shall be done
His power to heal is greater than my mind can comprehend
and his love is mine eternal as it goes on without end

So I trust in his promise he will always give me his best
For through him I know I will always have joy peace and rest
But God never promised I would never have pain
Nor does he need his will to explain

I go on and I trust in his healing hand
If this valley is dark, Someday I will understand
Never discouraged with God at my side
His all was mine, when upon the cross he died!

Psalm 42:11
O my soul, don't be discouraged. Don't be upset. Expect God to act! For I know that I shall again have plenty of reason to praise Him for all that He will do. He is my help! He is my God!

UNCHAIN ME FROM DEPRESSION

Shadows creep around my room
I toss and turn all through the night
My mind is filled with anguish and gloom
my heart is chained with fright!

I need you Lord to help me now
only you can heal my heart
unchain me from depression somehow
allow my anxieties to depart

My burdens now I give to you
can you carry them a while?
Watch over me in all I do
your tender mercies bring back my smile

I know that problems will come my way
Yet no matter what circumstance I'm in
These chains are broken when I pray
and my fears shall fade from within.

Chained to a world of dangers and fears
I cannot change things that have to be
But prayer shall strengthen me through the years
Till from these chains I shall be free!

John 14:27

START YOUR DAY WITH A PRAYER

Before you left your home this morning
tell me did you think to pray?
Did you ask God to guide you
And keep you through the day?

Did you read his word this morning
telling you how to live today?
or were you in too big a hurry
as you went along your way/

So often we neglect him
we don't take time to pray
How we grieve him our dear Savior
as we walk along life's way.

When in trouble he is with us
he never leaves us alone
how could you bear your burden
without Jesus to lean upon?

When we are weary and heavy laden
upon the Lord we can call
He's always there to guide and keep us
not just one but all.

How can we fail so great a savior
neglect him as we do?
Won't you try to do for Jesus
as he has done for you!

Start each day with Jesus
and don't forget to pray
jesus knows how much you love him
call on him while you may.

don't put off your prayers much longer
for to wait may be too late
We don't know when he will call us
to meet him at the gate

He then will bid us welcome
if on earth we live for him
Don't neglect him now he loves you
and at the gate he will let you in.

WHAT IF I GAVE ALL?

In the ten years that I was blessed to be able to serve more than 23 children as a foster parent, I was able to grow in so many ways.

We had three of the sweetest little kids stay with us. They had seen so much hardship in their tiny short lives.

Then we had a little boy that was whipped with an extension cord so hard that he had scars across his back. Although the wounds heal, the pain remains. He was so angry when he came to us. But by time he left, he had made so much progress! He had learned how to be a little boy again!

We took in two little boys that were terribly abused. They had parents that did horrible things to them. So horrible I can’t even say what it was. They were one of the worst cases of abuse the agency had ever seen.

Each story is as unique as the child. Each child is in need of someone to love them. To tell them you are there for them. Being a foster parent gives a person a chance to make a difference in a Childs life. You can't always save them, but if you can make some small difference, I guess that is a good way to look at life! You take one day at a time! When you give all, it not only changes the lives of others, but it just may change your life too!

Matthew 18:4
Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

A PRAYER FOR HEALING

Jesus is my solace
My healer and my friend
he comforts me with holy words
he truly loves me to no end

The one who gives me strength
the one with healing power
he carries me unconditionally
through my darkest hour

I come to him alone
I pray to him each day
that he might hallow all my thoughts
and show me his chosen way

Then in my hour of need
a song of praise I sing
hoping I can find new strength
to accept the challenge tomorrow will bring.

If healing is meant for me Lord
I pray thy will be done
If mercy is what you give me
I trust you oh holy one.

take me in thy hands dear lord
your healing powers be
Mold my life to give you the glory
I lay all my trust in thee!

MY MORNING WITH GOD IN PRAYER

Alone before the others wake
I go out and sit on my chair
I feel the crisp wind against my face
And I know my Lord is there.

"Be still and know that I am with you"
I feel his whisper in the wind
it makes me feel rejuvenated and ready
for the day God will send.

This is the time just me and God
share my secrets and concerns for the day
I pray that he will watch over me
and guide me on my way.

I thank him for all he's given me
I sing "how great thou art"
For all this earth and beauty
I am blessed to have my part.

Now I am ready to face my day
Its a blessing for me to know
I'll not walk alone, for I am his own
as into this world I go.

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

I PRAY TO THANK-YOU LORD

O Lord open my eyes to see you more clearly
You offer an endless panorama of things to be thankful for
you bring hope and great promise into my world
for when this life is over I will have life evermore

I want to walk along the path to eternity
Where your words shall forever echo and stay in my heart
Give me the strength to hold to your truth O' Lord
And I shall follow you endlessly till this life I depart

Now I want to thank-you oh Lord for your most precious gift

For you so loved the world that you gave your son
that whoever believes in him should not parish
but have life eternal, when this life on earth is done.

PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS

O stain of sin upon my soul
it causes such guilt and despair
the pain consumes the ones I love most
my life seems broken beyond repair.

Bring unto me wholeness and healing
as to thee I sorry confess
forgive me lord as I must forgive myself
and plead your righteousness.

Then in the midst of all that's evil
I must forgive others too
as I plead for your forgiveness
my confession I give unto you.

Unworthy and guilty I come calling

Oh Lord you know my need!

A SILENT PRAYER

There is true power in a silent prayer
In a quiet corner God will meet me there

in my quiet solitude I pray for my day
I have Gods full attention he will not turn away!

Just him and I establish my goal
with divine order he transforms my soul

he listens as I share every grief and woe
then with his wisdom he helps me grow.

he gently empowers me as I silently pray
My moment with God will sustain me all through my day!

In Luke 18:1 Jesus told his disciples that they "should always pray and not give up." and then Jesus asked "...will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?"

HELP ME OH LORD

Lord help me to be
full of peace and harmony
where hatreds dagger is all I see
Make forgiveness and love a part of me

Give me tolerance Lord
help me bring hope out of despair.
When others are hurting and sad
Guide my words to show I care

Give me these gifts Lord
please humble me now
give me just enough courage
to help others somehow

Give me your wisdom
For there is knowledge for those that believe
Though I may be the giver
It is in giving that I shall recieve!

MY WORRIED HEART

When I let my light, shine so bright
that Christ is revealed through me
All that is wrong, before too long
will be just a memory.

Its my hearts delight, in my darkest night
thy words become so clear
with trembling hands, at thy commands
your message still I hear.

My worried heart, though torn apart
is cradled in thy hands
so come what may, upon this day
I'll follow thy demands!

Oh what a thrill, to know Gods will
shall light my darkest days
My worries are gone, when I lean upon
my Lord in prayer and praise!

Do not worry about anything,
but in everything by prayer...let your request be made known.

WHAT FAITH IS

Faith is more than just belief

It's a burden lifted, it softens grief

Faith can heal and liberate

Faith brings joy to those that wait

Faith gives hope with each new dawn

It gives us strength to carry on

Faith empowers beyond the stars

In faith we rejoice that God is ours!
