Persecution came to Christians who witnessed the resurrection
They were flogged, chained and hated for their glorious connection!
They were stoned and cut in half by the evil rulers sword
With all their suffering, there would be no earthly reward.
Yet they spread joy and they had great hope
For through Gods great promise they were able to cope
Nothing in this life could ever defeat them
Rather this life or the next, the Christian shall win!
Through all your suffering Christ is always with you
He never forsakes, no matter what Christ shall carry you through
Through all of our suffering on earth we know Christ is there
Till the day we reach heaven, and he reveals joy beyond compare!
Oh what a restless journey that shall test us everyday
With victory assured, our Lord has risen and is here to forever stay.
For we know through our Lord we shall never die
Peace forever is ours, and the early Christians witnessed why!
LUK 14:14
and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you
will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."
