THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO YOU

There is a gospel of love in the bible,
It was written long years ago,
Oh how I still like to read it
A story with passion aglow!

Once a sinner far from Jesus
Oh how awful now it seems
Sometimes it takes so much to show us
How the light of Jesus gleams

i am so glad Jesus found me
Or I would have perished in the cold
But today I am rejoicing
soon I will walk the streets of gold!

My Christian friend will you listen
For its teaching be ever so true,
It is not read so well or so often
As the Gospel according to you!

People watch to see how we live
They see all our failures and slips
They expect us to live the profession'
We carry so light on our lips!

It's the only Gospel some are reading
The word in our flesh from anew
They judge the truth of the bible
by the gospel according to you!

I pray the life I am living
will be lived so close to God
so others may see the light of Jesus
Before they are laid in the sod.

So help carry someones burden
It may help you through the day
and will show them your love for Jesus
as you go along lifes way!

When you act upon the message
written by a hand thats true
When you share another's burden
It's the gospel according to you!

MAT 12:33
