THAT TINY LITTLE SPACE poem by carrie neighbors

THAT TINY LITTLE SPACE---by carrie neighbors

Have you ever stopped to think,
About the numbers set in stone
Each person gets a set of two,
As we pass through life alone.

The first number is when life started,
The second is when life s done,
No matter how large the space between them
There is a number for everyone!

The space that sits between them,
Is filled by the entire life we live,
Just how much did you take from Earth,
And how much back did you give?

Did you fill your space with joy and laughter,
To thine own self be true?
Is that space between your numbers,
The way you want others to remember you?

You know I have to wonder,
In that tiny little space,
Did you make your life worth living,
Did you share your Saviors Grace?

Our time here on Earth is short,
All things here will decay,
but that space between your numbers,
Forever with you will stay,

When the final numbers read,
And you are glory bound,
Will you be proud of the space that fills,
That Headstone in the ground.

2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
